Official Records Contacts

Local Booking Record Route

The Sheriff is the verified starting point for a specific Pocahontas County booking record or photograph. No separate official county roster, dedicated booking-record form, photo fee schedule, or guaranteed records-unit turnaround was located. Ask the office which custodian holds the record and whether a person is in local intake, regional-jail custody, released, or elsewhere.

County administrative office hours are listed as Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; verify the Sheriff’s records availability before visiting. A narrow request should give the name, date range, arresting agency, and whether the requested item is a booking record, a booking photograph, or both.

• Use the home records path for DCR, Sheriff, and court lookup routes.
• Use the warrant-check information for clerk and Sheriff contacts, not an assumed online county portal.
• Use West Virginia DCR’s offender search for state-connected jail or prison custody, with the current interface verified in a browser.
• Use the Magistrate or Circuit Clerk for case copies and later disposition questions.

Court and Custody Contacts

Pocahontas Magistrate Clerk Nancy Jordan is listed at 304-799-6603; magistrate court telephone numbers are 304-799-4200 and 304-799-4245. Circuit Clerk Connie Carr is listed at 304-799-4604. These offices can explain their public-record procedures, but a phone call does not guarantee that a particular warrant or file can be disclosed.

For a state-connected custody check or notification, use West Virginia DCR’s official search and VINE services. DCR’s VINE line is 1-866-WV4-VINE. It reports custody status and notifications, not a complete county booking history or a booking-photo gallery.
